Our manifesto

“Utopia lies at the horizon. When I draw nearer by two steps, it retreats two steps. If I proceed ten steps forward, it swiftly slips ten steps ahead. No matter how far I go, I can never reach it. What, then, is the purpose of utopia? It is to cause us to advance.”
Eduardo Galeano

Speaking up relentlessly to change the narratives. We speak up to raise awareness about sustainability, to inspire people and leaders to think differently about corporations and the world. We speak up to share our belief that there can be no viable economic model on a dead planet or in a ruined society. We speak up to inspire corporations to set radical goals rather than incremental ones, to spawn innovative solutions that turn externalities into opportunities, to bring about economic models that generate positive change for the world and in people’s lives.

We speak up but we also listen to the diverse voices of those who have taken on the challenge of effecting positive change in the world, in corporations and in communities. We write also. To reflect, to imagine the future, to take a break. To advance the cause.

We are utopians and militants, but also practitioners and experts of the sustainability transition. We are change acupuncturists, fostering integration of sustainability into corporate strategies by concentrating our efforts on the most powerful energy points: sustainable innovation, positive brands, local anchoring and the economic dimension of sustainable development. Also focusing on key industries in terms of impact and influence: food, construction, trade, fashion, tourism…

Because we treasure our independence as much as we believe in interdependence between corporations and their environments, and because we believe that the efficiency of private companies can be harnessed for public good, we are passionately committed to the B Corp movement
