Studies on SD labels for banking products

A recent study on 15 insurance companies (AXA, Generali, Aviva, CNP Assurances, Crédit Agricole-LCL, BNP Paribas, Société Générale, AGF, Groupama-GAN, Crédit Mutuel-CIC, Natixis, La Mondiale, MMA, MACIF, MAIF ) led by the association Friends of the Earth France shows up that none of them have a real policy on climate change. The NGO also underlines the inaction of government. Indeed, no regulation nowadays links climate, energy and asset management. Friends of the Earth France calls on insurance companies to join the only existing standard today: the methodology for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions induced by investments. The methodology has been developed by the Caisse d’Epargne and the consultancy Utopies in cooperation with a stakeholder panel composed of ADEME (the French Environment and Energy Management Agency), Friends of the Earth (France), Testé Pour Vous and the WWF France.
